Mom Update

Mom is out of the ICU and on the gerontology floor.  She started physical therapy last night and is responding nicely. She is one tough old lady.

Mom is in ICU

Last Friday Mom was admitted to Beaumont Hospital in Dearborn with the Flu and pneumonia. They have her oxygen level up but her lungs are still badly congested. She gets quite confused and it is very hard on her.

A Leaf Quilt on the Frame

I put my leaf quilt in the frame.  I saw a picture of this quilt in a catalog so I designed one like it for a queen sized bed.  It was a little tricky to get the leaves to look random. I cut each leaf out of graph paper and then glued them onto another sheet of graph paper.

I chose an overall quilting pattern. It is continuous, designed for machine stitching, but I am doing it by hand,  I am not that good on the machine especially with a queen sized quilt.

I had planned on making this quilt for Bill and Rejina because I thought it would go well in their bedroom.  After I got the top done I liked it so much I thought about keeping it for myself. I have changed my mind and decided to give it to them after all.

Another Quilt Retreat

Last weekend Carole and I went on a quilt retreat with the Crazy Crafters.  It was held at the Red Roof Inn in Lake Orion.  The hotel was not satisfactory so we will go somewhere else next time. We had a wonderful time though.  It is such a warm and friendly group of quilters. I worked on my "Dogs in Sweaters" quilt. my Color outside the Lines wall hanging and started another quilt I saw in Quiltmaker magazine. Quiltmaker is by far my favorite quilting magazine.  I have made several quilts from it.

By the way the snow is back.
