Baseball

My Mom is an avid baseball fan. She seldom misses a Tiger game. I made her a counted cross stitch "Baseball Nostalgia" picture and gave it to her Sunday. Then we took her to an historic baseball game at Greenfield Village. I gave her the rules ahead of time and she studied them carefully. She was most impressed that the outfielders didn't wear gloves. At that time period, some players wore fingerless leather gloves but it wasn't really considered manly to wear them. Greenfield Village has two teams staffed by 46 volunteers. Their name is the "La-di-dahs". Yesterday they played a team from Wyandotte. Their uniforms said "Y & ." The temperature was 94 degrees so we were armed with many bottles of water and big hats. We used a wheelchair for Mom because the grove is quite a distance from the museum entrance. A good time was had by all.
