Books I Have Read This Year
It is always so hard to erase the list of books I have read at the start of a new year. That is probably why I have waited to February. But the time has come. I usually read at night in bed. My Dad always had a fit if he caught you reading in the daytime. He would tell about a family who lived in filth but read books all day. As I get older that doesn't sound so bad but I still rarely read in the daytime.

Ha! "...a family who lived in filth but read books all day." That would be me. But I don't think of it as "filth." I think of it as dust, and I have a couple of wonderful books about dust (how ironic is that??) and dust is just part of life and not to be feared. According to one author: "each of us is constantly enveloped in a haze of our own skin flakes and disintegrating clothing. In addition to that cloud, each match we strike, each light-switch we flick, and each mile we drive causes more dust to rise into the air." Dust is SO interesting.
