Progress on the Hawaiian Quilt

I have finished nine of the squares although I could possibly do some of them over. I am getting better at the applique. Today I thought I would mark the quilting pattern on one of the better appliques and try quilting it.  I am going to quilt each square and then put them together. The book I am using gives the desired quilting pattern.  But what a chore to mark it! Perhaps if my applique was exact it could have been easier and this was my best applique. This was the design .

It was a challenge to mark because my applique wasn't as even as it should have been

I will quilt the applique in its color and the background in silver.  I have two more squares done, the Iris and Hibiscus.
