I have a Kindle
For Mother's Day Hubby bought me a Kindle. I love it. So far the book I have finished is "Madame Bovary" and I am currently reading "Great Expectations." I like reading from the Kindle and these books are even free. I am not a fast reader and I don't usually read during the day, but a chapter a night works well for me. Super G has one that she reads on the subway on the way to work. I think it would be very useful during a vacation. You wouldn't have to carry all those books.

If you finished Madame Bovary in less than a month I call that pretty fast reading. I got a Kindle for Christmas -- also a gift from Hubby. I'm still very excited about it and I load free books on it all the time. But so far I haven't actually read a full book on it. What I love to do is get those free samples of new books, especially nonfiction. I read the samples and sometimes that's all I really need. For example I read the beginning of Geo Bush's book about his presidency. That was more than enough: in fact, why I wanted to relive any of those 8 yrs is a mystery.
You've inspired me. I hope I can soon report that I too have read Madame Bovary on my Kindle. I have two copies of the book around here but have never managed to finish it.
